GOOGLE IS INTO NETBOOKS NOW?
Friday, December 18, 2009 1:28 AM
Rumors are spreading about the internet giant laying its hand on hardware too
Google has been onto everything these days. The search engine giant has moved to operating systems like android (aimed at smartphones) and chrome os (for netbooks) and more recently rumors flying about a Google cellphone – Nexus One, which will be a device totally owned by Google, only manufactured by HTC – so no licensing to third party. Now even before it dies down, rumors about another intention of Google foraying into into hardware are doing round on the net. Techcrunch and Liliputing report multiple sources that speak of Google bringing out its own netbook to be sold under the Google brand.

Well, I could almost sense it – Android and Chrome OS, then Nexus One, so the next logical step was the netbook. And it is understandable for it to come out late next year pre-loaded with Chrome OS. It’ll reportedly be fully connected and come with contracts.

Own device means, as Liliputing pointed out, you have more control on what you want to give to the world. Google has always been an innovative company, so it wouldnot be difficult to provide a whole web-based solution in their products.

Mind you, this is only a rumor, and many companies feed on these rumors to build a huge curiosity around their products. So just keep your fingers crossed for this supposedly ultimate web experience.
